February 4, 2013
The Honorable John Baird
Minister of Foreign Affairs
Dear Minister:
In October 2010 your predecessor Minister Cannon launched Canada’s National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security. This Plan contains commitments and actions of the Government of Canada to support the implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolutions on Women, Peace and Security.
In this Plan, your government committed to annual reporting on progress. To date no report has been made public.
We are writing to you to ask when the first report will be issued. We are very interested to learn of the Government of Canada’s actions, investments and contributions in this area. Given the critical nature of these issues and the bold commitments in the National Action Plan, we are eager to see evidence of Canada’s leadership.
Sincerely,
